Visit Agenda: On Site at the Modern Dairy Reference Project
On December 18, a delegation of French clients from the Argentina market, accompanied by the Bellaex team, visited the Modern Dairy ranch cluster in China to inspect the 10 TPH steam flaked corn line and 10 TPH ruminant feed line jointly supplied by Bellaex and FAMSUN. This reference project has become an important showcase of China dairy farming technology and an integrated ruminant feed solution.
Building on their previous visits to farms and supply chain nodes, the clients treated this Corn Flakes project as a “showcase” of China’s integrated steam flaked corn and ruminant feed solution for large scale dairy farming. The tour began in the central control room, where they observed real time monitoring of production data and process parameters, and learned about each stage of steam flaked corn processing from raw corn intake to finished product dispatch.
On the production floor, the Bellaex team explained the overall project timeline—from design and fabrication to installation and on site commissioning—and how the line was brought to stable operation within the planned schedule. The clients paid close attention to plant cleanliness, process coordination and operator management, and raised detailed questions on capacity utilization, running costs and maintenance in day to day operation of a 10 TPH steam flaked corn line. Both sides engaged in in depth discussions on how this integrated feed solution performs in real large scale dairy farming environments.
Project Overview: An “Internal Feed Hub” for Around 100,000 Dairy Cows
This steam flaked corn project in China is located in a key zone of the China milk belt, where Modern Dairy operates a cluster of large, standardized farms with a herd size of roughly 100,000 dairy cows. To secure a stable and controllable energy feed supply under intensive production conditions, Modern Dairy invested in a 10 TPH steam flaked corn line and a 10 TPH ruminant feed line, partnering with Bellaex and FAMSUN for system design, equipment integration and on site commissioning.
The project is positioned as an internal feed hub, upgrading corn from raw grain into steam flaked corn optimized for dairy cow feed and ruminant digestion, and integrating it seamlessly with ruminant feed production tailored to the ranches’ TMR dairy ration systems. By carefully managing key parameters such as conditioning time, starch gelatinization and final moisture, the ranch cluster can better balance energy utilization, rumen health and milk yield, while mitigating risks caused by raw material variability.
During the visit, the clients showed strong interest in the model where all output from the steam flaked corn processing line is reserved for internal use with no external sales. This approach gives the dairy group greater control over feed supply stability, enabling a vertically integrated feed system and a closed loop from crop planning and corn cost to ration formulation and quality traceability. For the Argentina dairy market—where feed stability and food safety are equally critical—this field to feed to farm setup offers valuable insights and a concrete integrated feed solution reference.
From China Reference to Future Collaboration in Argentina
During the discussions, the Bellaex team also explored with the clients how a similar Corn Flakes project and ruminant feed solution could be adapted to the South America dairy industry, considering local feeding practices, raw material conditions, capacity planning and the role of Bellaex’s one stop China supply chain. The team highlighted how the experience gained in this China dairy farming project can support future investments in steam flaked corn processing and dairy cow feed production in Argentina.
The clients concluded that the visit gave them a much clearer, hands on understanding of Bellaex’s engineering strength in steam flaked corn and ruminant feed projects, and expressed strong interest in developing future cooperation in the Argentina dairy market based on this 10 TPH steam flaked corn project in China.
